Los Angeles, CA (August 24, 2010)- “DIRTY BAILARINA” the new album from Spanish hip-hop superstar MALA RODRIGUEZ is available for digital download today for the very first time in the US and Puerto Rico. The new album is the rappers’ fourth studio album and one of the most critically acclaimed releases of the Spaniard’s career.
Mala Rodriguez, reknowned throughout the world for her one of a kind style, bravado and no holds barred lyrics has established herself as one of the most respected and revered lyricist in Spanish hip-hop. The artist’s catalog of releases including her debut “Lujo Iberico” and the follow up album’s “Alevosia” and “Malamarismo” have become rap favorites not only in Europe but also in the US, Puerto Rico and Latin America.
Mala is the winner of an MTV Latinoamerica award for “Best New artist” and has been nominated for a Latin Grammy in the category of “Best urban album” and for “Best Spanish Artist” atthe MTV Europe Music Awards. Her music has been featured in Spanish, French and Mexican cinema and appeared in soundtracks for internationally released video games including EA Sports FIFA 2005, Scareface: The World Is Yours and Need for Speed: Shift. Her new album continues her musical legacy by introducing a science fiction concept that follows the main character “Dirty Bailarina” through 12 new tracks with next level production delivered by DJ Griffi and American rap producer Focus as a musical backdrop. The songs take place in an alternate dimension both in storylines and in sound. The album’s kickoff single “No Pidas Perdon” has become one of Spanish rap and alternative music’s most talked about songs of 2010.
Later this year, Mala Rodriguez will kick-off a Latin American tour and visit the US for promotional activities in support of the release of “Dirty Bailarina”.
